Summer is the best time of year for backyard parties and cookouts. If you plan to host a gathering this upcoming season, your guests will likely want to spend time outside. So, is your outdoor space ready for the amount of entertaining you’re about to do this year?
If your backyard area could use a little help, take a little time to remodel the space. Here are some ideas.
Install an Outdoor Fireplace
A great addition to your outdoor stone patio is an outdoor fireplace is a great way to welcome your guests and keep them warm on a cool summer night. The fireplace will keep your party going all night long. You’ll love kicking back with a nightcap by the fire after a day of party prep and execution. Plus, if you’re going to have kids at your party (and even if you’re not) you can use the fireplace to make the all-time favorite campfire snack: s’mores.
Purchase a Large Outdoor Dining Table
To make your backyard patio area more inviting, consider investing in an outdoor dining table. The large table will allow you and all of your friends to eat outside while sitting comfortably. If your patio isn’t big enough for such a large investment, consider looking into a bar table with comfy bar stools. That’ll save you space while still allowing everyone to eat outside. If you have extra room left over after bringing in the bar table, add some patio-style chairs.
Revamp the Flooring
Want to let your personality shine in your backyard decor? Try showing it off through your flooring. Concrete flooring is a great option because you can do so much with it. You can even use it to exaggerate your minimalistic aesthetic. Concrete floors are great for an outdoor setting because they’re easy to clean, hypoallergenic, and can be treated with a slip-resistant floor coating. Compensation and medical costs associated with employee slip and fall accidents are about $70 billion annually. Since that’s just for on-the-job falls, can you imagine what it would cost you if a friend slipped and got hurt in your backyard?
If your backyard isn’t ready for your summer entertaining, take some time before the season hits to give it a revamp. Install concrete flooring, purchase a large dining table, or buy an outdoor fireplace. Should you need help with remodeling the inside of your home, consider our sister company Collins Tile & Stone.
